I jumped at the chance to read this book for two reasons, the first was Kylie Scott contributed to it and having read her book Lick recently I wanted to see what else she could do, the second again was Kylie Scott's story was set after a zombie plague had wiped most of the population out and I am partial to that sort of thing, actually there is a third reason - see the cover above!
So this is a collection of four stories, all ranging from steamy to on fire on the hotness scale! All of them are se I jumped at the chance to read this book for two reasons, the first was Kylie Scott contributed to it and having read her book Lick recently I wanted to see what else she could do, the second again was Kylie Scott's story was set after a zombie plague had wiped most of the population out and I am partial to that sort of thing, actually there is a third reason - see the cover above! All of them are set in Australia if you didn't guess from the title and all of them feature women facing different situations.
The first story, Room With a View, well there isn't much of a view unless you count plague ridden zombies lying face down in a swimming pool, but this story features Natalie and the gorgeous young man who comes to her rescue. I love dystopian stories and this one sets the scene nicely for Kylie's story Flesh which explores this world in more detail.
The second is A Sporting Chance, this is set in the dusty outback and features the incredibly broke Jane, a bartender at the local pub who is down on her luck, her boss Luka, an Eastern European is hot and flirty but she refuses his offer of help, she instead turns to her racing toad Germaine to win her some cash! Things of course never go to plan and Jane to her horror loses a bet against Luka which places her under his beck and call for 24 hours.
The third is A Real Online Fantasy, Caitlyn has been busy online with her online crush spilling each others secrets and acting out their fantasies, but when she meets her crush in the flesh, will they feel the same? I enjoyed this as of course the uncertainty of will the crush turn up, will he be hot or a 60 year old beer bellied baldy?
Read to find out. Ahem, anyway this in my opinion would be the hottest of the four! It is a good read but to be honest the one I enjoyed the most was the dystopian but being a huge fan of the genre it was a given, saying that the others are well written and they made me long to revisit the wonderful country of Australia, it's been too long Brisbane!

I award Hot Down Under Bundle 3 - 3 out of Jun 15, Bec rated it liked it Shelves: books-read , down-under-plunder , howdy-horsemen-and-the-end-of-days , muscles-men-and-motorbikes , netgalley-arc , zonked-out-zombies. I loved her back when my friend Lauren first threw her novella A Room With A View my way in and screamed at me to read it, and then when she started with her Stage Dive series, I loved her even more.
It might be my morbid fascination with Zombies and apocalypses of all kinds or it could be the way that she threw in a romance to make something ugly, beautiful. I enjoyed this book of hers a lot more than I did the first one, Flesh, less than how much I enjoyed Skin though but having said that, I would've liked a little more zombie action in the mix, but since I'd already read this one, it was kind of a given that I'd give it a decent star rating.
Nope, what gave this bundle it's 3 star rating was the rest of the bundle. I had to keep on checking the title to make sure I was reading the right thing. Ho Down Under makes me think of the outback, the bush, hot and sweaty stockmen. Dust, mud, rivers and lakes, and everything in between, and as a girl from rural NSW, yes, I might be a little biased in that assumption, but when talking to my friends overseas, that's what they think of too, so I know for a fact that if they were reading this bundle they would be severely disappointed at the lack of farms, stations and sexy men in jeans and work clothes, brushing the sweat from their Akubra wearing heads.
The stories weren't anything special or uniquely Australian, you could've transplanted them straight into the United States or heck, even New Zealand.
The stories lacked the spark and sizzle that I was expecting and all in all I didn't enjoy them all that much. I know Kylie Scott is the selling point in this bundle, but even with her previously released novella being included, it is the only thing that saves this bundle in my eyes. If any act or proceeding required by such sections is not done or instituted within the time limited by such sections, the tax commissioner shall cause such act to be done or such proceeding instituted in the name of the officer whose duty it is to perform such act or to institute such proceeding, and the acts and proceedings of the tax commissioner in such behalf shall be considered valid and effectual to the same extent as if done or instituted within the time limited in such sections and by the officer required to perform such act or institute such proceeding.

The attorney general shall, on the written request of the tax commissioner, institute and prosecute any such proceedings. All expenses incurred by the tax commissioner under this section in a county shall be borne by the county. Such expenses shall be certified and paid, and the proceeds of such payments shall be used in the manner provided by such sections. The county treasurer shall, upon receipt by him of all moneys due him for delinquent taxes, assessments, interest, and penalty on any tract of land, or city or town lot, enter upon the tax duplicate and upon his copy of the delinquent land list "redeemed," and the county auditor shall, after each settlement period, revise the list of delinquent lands, or city or town lots, by writing "redeemed" in the margin provided for that purpose on all such tracts of land, or city or town lots entered "redeemed" upon the treasurer's duplicate, and he shall make a like entry on his tax list.

The delinquent tax contract shall be paid as prescribed by section The delinquent tax contract may be terminated if the court or board of revision determines that the property is not in compliance with all applicable zoning regulations, land use restrictions, and building, health, and safety codes during the term of the contract. The court or board of revision shall retain jurisdiction over the delinquent land until the total amount set forth in the delinquent tax contract is paid, notwithstanding any conveyance of the land to another owner during the period that the delinquent tax contract is outstanding.
If any payment under a delinquent tax contract is not paid when due, or if the contract is terminated because the property is not in compliance with all applicable zoning regulations, land use restrictions, and building, health, and safety codes, the county treasurer shall, at the time the payment is due and unpaid or the contract is terminated, advise the court or board of revision rendering the judgment of foreclosure, and the court or board of revision shall order such land sold for the amount of taxes, assessments, penalties, interest, and charges then due and owing on such land in the manner provided in section Upon the receipt of each payment pursuant to any delinquent tax contract, the county treasurer shall enter the amount of such payment on the tax duplicate, and, upon request, shall give a receipt for the amount paid to the person paying it.
The receipt shall be in the form prescribed by the tax commissioner. Except as otherwise provided in this section, the portion of the amount tendered under this section representing taxes, and penalties and interest thereon, shall be apportioned among the several taxing districts in the same proportion that the amount of taxes levied by each district against the delinquent property in the preceding tax year bears to the taxes levied by all such districts against the property in the preceding tax year. The portion of the payment representing assessments and other charges shall be credited to those items in the order in which they became due.
To the extent that the county treasurer, under section When joint tenants pursuant to a joint tenancy created prior to April 4, , tenants with a right of survivorship, tenants in common, or coparceners have a property right in lands or town lots, or parts of lots described in any delinquent land tax certificate or delinquent vacant land tax certificate, and a person having such right in that property fails to join in the redemption of such delinquent land tax or for any cause cannot be joined in any such redemption, the county auditor may entertain the application of so many of such persons as join in the application, and may make a certificate releasing such portion of the land or lot as the person making such application is entitled to in severalty upon partition, upon payment of the amount due under such delinquent land tax certificate or delinquent vacant land tax certificate, as is covered by the applicant's portion of the land described in such certificate.
When any tract of land, or city or town lot is returned delinquent for nonpayment of taxes or assessments, and placed on the duplicate of the succeeding year, and the owner or person liable to pay the taxes produces the receipt of the county treasurer for such taxes and assessments of the preceding year, the county auditor or treasurer shall not make the deduction from the duplicate, of such taxes, assessments, interest, and penalty but it shall be chargeable to the treasurer as if such receipt had not been produced.

The treasurer shall receive such receipt in discharge of the tax or assessment for the year it is returned delinquent, with the penalty; and the auditor shall credit such treasurer with the amount and shall forthwith collect such taxes. The tax commissioner shall provide the necessary documents to be used in carrying this chapter into effect, and the form of such documents shall be uniform throughout the state.
